Die Kennzeichen der beiden Modell SR555 und SR556 sind geringes Rauschen, hohe Verstärkung und große Bandbreite. Die Geräte finden ihre Anwendungen im weiten Feld der Analysen-, Sensor- und Detektortechnik. Die nötige Spannungsversorgung liefert der mit den Verstärkern verbundene Lock-In-Verstärker SR5x0, SR8x0 oder SR124.
